Unify, harmonize and give identity to a house with history
The property is located in the area of Cautivador in Alfaz del Pi. It is a residential area surrounded by nature and characterized by its steep slope. Another of its features are the incredible panoramic views it presents.
The family was looking for a complete renovation of the house. The main objective is to give identity and unify the image of the house that after several reforms has been distorted.
The main challenge is to limit the intervention to be carried out in the dwelling in a way that produces a great impact with concrete actions that do not involve a major modification of the existing dwelling.
A modulation is established through the vertical structural elements, which acquire a forceful materiality, in this case masonry. The creation of two new terraces and the composition and homogenization of the façade openings are fundamental to achieve this objective. In the same way as in the exterior volume, the interior tries to uniform the floors and to establish relationships between the different levels, which are a priori non-existent.
It is possible to transmit an order at first glance through modulation, thus creating harmony in the exterior appearance of the house. With the modification of the openings of the house it is possible to give the house a unique identity.
