Casa Florencia
An exposed brick house with a mountain view
Casa Florencia is located in Polop, in a low density residential area characterized by houses of similar characteristics.
This one-story house plus basement has been designed to make the most of its natural surroundings. The cross plan design allows for the creation of four distinct spaces around it, each with specific characteristics that respond to the needs and qualities of each space.

Being located in a position above the street, the main facade of Casa Florencia is presented as an opaque surface, ensuring the privacy of its occupants despite its elevation. In addition, the space between the street and the house is resolved by a natural slope, in which the vegetation generates a garden that gives this main facade great value.
The whole house overlooks the opposite side, generating in the rear area two distinct outdoor areas: a private one, attached to the master bedroom, and a common one, connected to the living areas and the rest of the rooms. In this common outdoor area, a barbecue and a swimming pool are located, offering a space designed for family enjoyment with direct views of the mountains.
The house is characterized by its structural modulation, where the exposed brick walls not only define the structure but also visually mark the modulation of the house, creating an architectural rhythm throughout the surface.

The main module houses the common areas of the house and is distinguished by its double height, which houses a study overlooking the living room. This open and luminous space encourages interaction and communication between the different levels of the house, while allowing the exterior views to be enjoyed from any angle.
In terms of materiality, we have opted for the predominant use of exposed brick in the walls, highlighting the honesty of the materials and their direct relationship with the structure of the house. This approach not only brings a rustic and cozy aesthetic, but also reinforces the connection of the house with its natural surroundings.
In short, Casa Florencia not only adapts to the characteristics of the terrain and the needs of its inhabitants, but also integrates with the surrounding landscape, offering a functional, private home in perfect harmony with the environment.
